Overview

SUMMARY OF POSITION:       

Support level position, working under the supervision of the Systems Support Manager and/or an experienced technician.

Responsibilities

FUNCTIONS:

 

  • Responsible for taking all systems support calls and providing technical support
  • Provide test equipment support to fleet by:
    • Troubleshooting & Problem Solving: Ability to troubleshoot, analyze, and provide instructions for repairs sometimes with limited resources.
    • Mechanical abilities: Basic knowledge of how machines operate including mechanical and electrical components.
    • Hands on Skills: Proficiency in using various hand tools and equipment to perform maintenance and repairs.
  • Maintain detailed logs of current inspector system and software revisions across a fleet of vehicles.
  • Maintain detailed logs of the status of test systems across a fleet of vehicles
    • Consistently, reach out to evaluate test systems and schedule preventive maintenance when required. 
  • Assemble, test, and maintain, test systems for Sperry vehicles.
  • Computer repair and assembly

 

DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC/NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Other duties as assigned with or without accommodation.

 

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS/SCOPE:

  • Interacts with direct supervisor.
  • Interacts across departmental boundaries.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS:

The employee will predominantly work indoors in the main Systems Support Lab.

Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Education: High School Diploma/GED. Post-secondary education and/or technical trade certificate is an asset.
  • Experience: Two to three years technical experience in the areas listed above.
  • Communication: excellent communication skills both verbal and written required.
  • Skills/Qualifications: Proficiency with basic office computer software, and the ability to learn how to effectively use software to input data and conduct research.
  • Skills/Competencies: work in a team environment or independently when needed.
  • Mechanical abilities: Basic knowledge of how machines operate including mechanical and electrical components.
  • Hands on Skills: Proficiency in using various hand tools and equipment to perform maintenance and repairs.
  • Troubleshooting & Problem Solving: Ability to troubleshoot, analyze, and execute repairs sometimes with limited resources.
