Overview

SUMMARY OF POSITION:       

Support level position, working under indirect supervision of an experienced technician. May have supervisory duties over projects or personnel.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Follow company safety policies in both the shop and the field.
  • Maintain clean work space and monitor inventory levels to ensure adequate resources to perform required tasks
  • Repair and maintain field vehicles, Rail bound, HI Rail and YTV and related equipment/components, perform field order repairs, inspection, adjustments and troubleshoots maintenance issues.
  • Report/record the condition of vehicles. (Audits)
  • Fabrication and modification of new or existing equipment when required.
  • Ensure, vehicle & equipment meets safety and quality compliance standards, participate in safety, health and environmental programs.
  • Performs maintenance related special projects as required.
  • Ensure all work is completed in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Perform vehicle audits and log SDMS.
  • Work under limited supervision following procedures to complete assigned tasks
  • Diagnose and repair controls systems, hydraulic systems, and electrical repairs.
  • Carriage component repairs and routine maintenance
  • Kubota and hydraulic generator repairs
  • Respond to service calls and emergency breakdowns
  • Conduct routine safety checks on all vehicles and equipment
  • Completes paperwork associated with repairs, parts, and accounts for time spent on the repairs
  • Identifies and completes repairs identified on Vehicle audits

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Reports to Assigned facility. 

Travel for maintenance related issues can require up to 60 % travel.

Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe work environment.  Report any safety violations or fault conditions to supervisor.

Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Education: High School Diploma/GED
  • 2 years electrical experience
  • 2 years truck mechanical experience
  • Ability to read wiring diagrams and assembly drawings
  • Mechanical experience with work equipment, heavy trucks,
  • Commercial Driver’s License ( CDL B) or equivalent
  • Participate in After hours on call rotation
  • Skills/Competencies: Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Maintain a relationship with the customer and follow up on all customer complaints. Always maintain a professional and positive attitude toward employees and customers.
